
Noel Kullavanijaya joined Equilibrium Capital Group to further his passion and explore his long standing personal interest in responsible impactful investing and sustainability. His aim is to help accelerate the progress of making sustainability investing a mainstream opportunity for institutions, businesses and individuals.
Noel is a Principal of Equilibrium Capital Group and heads the Firm’s Investor Network broker dealer team that provides fundraising and capital market advisory services to its Equilibrium Capital Group’s portfolio of asset managers. Before joining Equilibrium Capital Group, Noel spent more than 20 years as an investment banker – Noel built and managed various businesses, with a specialty in strategic advisory for financial services and financial technology, for Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup), Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch & Co. Based in New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto and Hong Kong, he worked extensively with a broad range of financial service and banking companies and governments in Asia, United States, Europe and the Middle East. Noel also co-founded a private equity and advisory firm that focuses on community banks throughout the United States, and worked as a project engineer for General Motors and the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company.
Noel has served on numerous boards of companies in the U.S. and Asia. He currently serves as:
- Director and Vice Chairman of Gateway Bank FSB in Oakland, CA
- Director of KGI Securities (Thailand) plc in Bangkok, Thailand.
- Advisor to BigML (a software company in Corvalis, OR)
- Advisor to Strands Group (a software company) in San Francisco, CA.
- Member of Dean’s Advisory Council of the McCormick School of Engineering, Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
Noel graduated from Northwestern University with BS and MS from the McCormick School of Engineering and MBA in Finance and International Economics from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
